The Yarn Doctor

The Yarn Doctor

Introducing a new service from Rainbow Knits to people in Aberdeenshire and Angus: the Yarn Doctor!

Let me help you out with any yarny problems. I can:

DIAGNOSE what’s gone wrong with your knitting or crochet project
FIX it
– show you what went wrong so that together we can PREVENT it happening again
PRESCRIBE a suitable technique or class
HELP you decipher a knitting or crochet pattern
TEACH you a quick one-to-one masterclass in individual techniques (eg how to use a cable needle, how to use circulars: the kind of thing you might not want to sign up to a whole class for)

So if it’s something to do with knitting and crochet, you can help?

Oh yes! For example, I will:

  • Darn in all the ends in your work beautifully. I’ll teach you how to do it as I work, at no extra charge
  • Sew all your knitted pieces into a finished garment
  • Work the tricky bits, like Kitchener grafting, then pass it back for you to finish
  • Pick up that dropped stitch or unravelled bit, rework it, and get you back to where you left off in the pattern
  • Wind your skeins into balls
  • Sit with you and decode a pattern with you till you’re up and running happily
  • Hand-wash, dry and block your delicate garments
  • Repair damaged work
  • etc!
